Wait & Repent

At the heart of Advent are two words, both alien to our current culture: Wait... Repent.

In Matthew 1:1-17, we see the long stretch between Abraham and Jesus (biological descent); In Mark 12:1-12 we see the long line of messengers from God to Israel, culminating in the sending of the beloved Son (Heb. 1:1-2 also). Now as then, God calls us to wait and to repent.
